Digital Printing – Providing Quality Results
Here at Media Fast we provide a vast array of services that relate to design and product creation, but one of our most basic and yet most useful services is called digital printing. You may wonder what that is, or even how it differs from traditional printing, so we thought we’d give you a brief rundown of the process.
Digital printing refers to methods of printing from a digital based image directly to a variety of media. So basically, if you have a company logo and provide us with it in digital form (i.e. on a disk, through email, from your website, etc.) we can take it directly from the computer and print it on to any kind of media that you like. Whether you need flyers, business cards, mailers, disk sleeves or any kind of promotional material, we can create it simply from the digital image you provide. This cuts out a lot of steps that were previously necessary and can result in several thousand copies of whatever you need, at a lower price than ever before.
The main differences between digital printing and traditional methods such as lithography, flexography, gravure, or letterpress are that no need to replace printing plates. Traditional non-digital methods require constant replacement of plates, which can be costly and time consuming. Inkjet and laser printers are a very popular option for digital printing and work on a spectrum of different surfaces, including photo paper, canvas and even glass, metal and marble. This is because, unlike traditional methods, the ink actually lays on the surface of the substance that is being printed upon and is then cured using heat or UV rays.
Sound pretty scientific? It kind of is, but it is also very straightforward when you know how and we here at Media Fast certainly do know how. Team that with our fantastic design experts and you will have a better quality and more professional looking end product. So that’s it in a nutshell. If you need promotional material or any design or printing help, then give us a call.
